We assure everyone that anonymity is protected and maintained in any case, and so to avoid any doubt, this person doesn’t and hasn’t to my knowledge ever resided in Gordon!

Ms. M age 37, presented with generalised anxiety, that was becoming more severe as time passed.

Her anxiety was affecting her career as well as her social life: she was becoming increasingly withdrawn, and avoided any public speaking at work or even socially.

She had been to her GP to discuss her anxiety, and was referred to a psychiatrist, but didn’t want to take medication that had been prescribed.

She didn’t find relief with talking to a psychologist, if anything it made her feel worse about herself.

Ms. M couldn’t understand why her issues were ongoing and thought she would naturally grow out of them at some point in her life, which hadn’t happened.

She described herself as a ‘worrier’ as was her mother, and saw the “glass half empty”, always reminding herself of things she didn’t do, could’ve done or should’ve done better, and comparing herself to her peers.

Through the Hypnotherapeutic Counselling process we discussed her history in depth, and identified key patterns, feelings and behaviours that were unhelpful and keeping her stuck.

We also discussed what she wanted from therapy in terms of how she would like to feel in given situations.

Her goals were clear.

She wanted the confidence to be herself, rise in her chosen career path, and pursue a relationship again, without the uncomfortable feelings of anxiety holding her back.

We resolved the underlying issues relating to her anxiety in hypnosis using a variety of techniques, built up her self-esteem so that she felt comfortable in her own skin, being her own person, relaxed and at ease.

We worked together for about 6 Sessions, feeling a shift from the very first one, and by the last Session was doing extremely well, dating a wonderful man, feeling happy and in control, and had applied for a promotion.
