Hypnotherapy for Hills District, Sydney

I’ve been in private practice now for over 20 years, and have just about seen it all when it comes to the A – Z of clients’ issues.

None too great or too small, I am absolutely passionate about helping clients achieve their goals.

The motto on the boomerang of the Hill’s Shire logo where the Kookaburra is perched – To strive for better things – inspired me to write this post.

Some 15 or so years ago, I had a client suffering from intense anxiety and panic attacks.

Miss L had difficulty getting on buses and doing what most would say regular everyday ‘stuff.’

She was in her early 20’s and had never learned to swim as a child (born overseas).

At one of the Sessions she told me that she had discovered the most incredible thing about floating and anxiety.

She had to actively release all of the anxiety in her body in order to float!

Something I had taken for granted and had never given a second thought!

Just so automatic when you know how to swim.

So she used floating as a way of gauging her progress through our Hypnotherapy Sessions!

The faster she could float and start doing her laps, the more progress she knew she was making, and the more flexible she was with being able to do everyday things without a care in the world.

Like many in the Hills District, I have plentiful wildlife visit my yard on a daily basis.

It all started with a kookaburra chick, called Amigo, blind in one eye and unable to fend for himself initially.
He thrived with remedial beak lessons!!!

He and his feathered friends are very tame, as are lots of kookaburras, and he has provided me with so many wonderful hypnotherapy stories and metaphors!

Very popular with hypnotherapy for children too!

We’re also home to many water dragons. Kupono is very photogenic and clients either think he isn’t real or he’s a pet. He must be the most photographed water dragon in the world!

There are also a few swamp wallabies regulars. Furze, a young male about 3 years old, will come very close and almost daily.

His sister Peaches, currently has a little joey called Cherry. Furze also became injured, and had the good sense to visit a couple of times a day so I could monitor and help him heal with some natural remedies that worked for him, the kookaburra and also a couple of possums.

Perplexed, clients will often ask me if they are pets. They are wild and can come and go as they please.

The question I get asked often is how on earth can I get so close? Is it hypnosis?

Perhaps it is… may be it’s my intent to help and nurture when they need it, to do no harm.

Perhaps it just comes down to emptying all the tension out of my body as if I was floating, like what my client experienced in water, and just being present.

There’s nothing like the smell of the Australian bush and wildlife, that combination is truly my ultimate relaxation!
